Our Members on Church of the Resurrection

Rather than asking you to accept the word of a website, we thought it would be helpful for you to experience COTR through the lives of some of our members. Here are some of their thoughts on their experiences of worship and development in their own words.

Jessica, an accountant:

When my husband and I came to this parish over 3 years ago, I had only been a Christian for a few years, coming from the Baptist tradition. Concepts such as liturgy and sacraments were not familiar to me. I did some reading prior to my first visit as I knew that the worship experience would be different from what I was accustomed to. I showed up with an open mind, just wanting to know what the Lord would have to say to me through this experience. What I found was a reverent and captivating form of worship that involved all of my being, compelling and sound teaching and true fellowship. This parish has helped me to grow in my faith tremendously through the sacraments, thought provoking educational programs and the support and fellowship of the community.

Jim and Judy:

We have been members of this parish for about 18 months. We were searching for a Liturgical Church community that preaches and teaches the Word of God from the Holy Scriptures (The Bible). A Church that believes in the “Real Presence’ in the Holy Eucharist and emphasizes it. We also believe that their are seven Holy Sacraments instituted by Jesus Christ that still exist today and flourish in the Church.

We are positively blessed here, in that we have clergy who believe, teach and emphasize these along with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Holy Trinity, i.e., three Persons in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And we believe that we are members of the one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church as prayed in the Apostles and Nicene Creeds.

We are a small and friendly community, mission-minded and focused.

All of the above is why we are loving members of the parish.

If you find what is said above of interest to you, we would love to have you and your family come and join with us.

“Now in the Catholic Church itself we take the greatest care to hold that which has been believed everywhere, always and by all. That is truly and properly ‘Catholic,’ as is shown by the very force and meaning of the word, which comprehends everything almost universally.”
